Kent:slow start to the year.

Holler Boys Fog Cutter-4.5%abv:A light session pale ale. Piney hops and an intriguing floral finish. This was selling well, from a new brewery based at Blackboys, East Sussex. Some connection to the (late) Late Knights Brewery. My BOTW.

Started the year with a flourish - Wycombe Wanderers away to Forest Green on New Year's Day saw a pre-match Stroud Brewery bottled beer (didn't note which one) officially the first of the year and was followed by a trip to the lauded Salutation (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/60190/) in Ham after the game. The next day brought a trip to the London Stadium to see West Ham at home to West Brom and a cheeky seven-pub jaunt though W1 (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/towns/w1/central-london/) prior to the evening kick-off. All quiet on the Western Front after that after much festive heavy binging:

Purity Pure Gold (3.8%)
Portobello Westway Pale Ale (4.0%)
St Austell Tribute (4.2%)
Tileys Special Bitter (4.3%)
GK Fireside (4.5%)
Siren Undercurrent (4.5%)
Fuller's Damson Porter (4.6%)
Sambrook's Powerhouse Porter (4.9%)*
Redemption Fellowship Porter (5.1%)*

A couple of firsts in the small list above - the first 'How Much?!' (http://forums.pubsgalore.co.uk/showthread.php?21836-How-much) when charged £2.75 for a half of the Pure Gold in W1's The Running Horse (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/22353/) followed not long after by the first dodgy beer of the year - a half of vinegar masquerading as GK Fireside in The City of Quebec (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/22210/), however, not all was lost with superb halves of Sambrook's Powerhouse Porter in two separate pubs (The Coach & Horses (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/22215/) and The Spread Eagle (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/53715/)) just edging out the Redemption Fellowship I had at the aforementioned Salutation:

BOTW: Sambrook's Powerhouse Porter

Fairly gentle start to this year's drinking, but it was nice to have the pubs back to normal.

Ashover - Turning Point.
Revolutions - Swoon.
Black Sheep - Pathmaker.(K)*
Shiny - New World.*
Saltaire - Winter Ale.
Revolutions - Hex.
North Riding - Christmas Pudding Porter.*
Fernandes - Malt Shovel Mild.*
Rat - Ratmospheric.
Fernandes - Belgian White.*
Elland - Winterfell.

All the asterisked beers were pretty good, but the New World, a sessionable pale ale, was the just the job, for flushing out the Christmas toxins.

Thornbridge Holloway 4%.

Brewed in conjunction with the Sheffield Tap.

A lovely, easy drinking light beer with Galaxy & Cascade hops. Tried in that Baum place.
