Hi all,
Off to Derby soon. Too many good pubs to squeeze in to a day by the look of it!
As I will be there early doors does anybody know of any early openers (apart from the spoons)?
Any pubs will do - I will get on to better pubs later in the day!
Also I know you all went there a few years back - What pub was the best??
Cheers,
Del.

If you haven't found it, the thread for the crawl is here: http://forums.pubsgalore.co.uk/showthread.php?21250-Derby-in-November

Highlight for me was the Brunswick Inn (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/7022/).

Other popular ones on the day included Exeter Arms (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/7072/), Golden Eagle (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/7094/), Greyhound (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/7104/), New Zealand Arms (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/7167/), Peacock (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/7179/"), Tap (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/63486/), Ye Olde Dolphin (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/7285/) and (although I skipped it on the day) Alexandra Hotel (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/6999/).

You may also wish to give this place a try in its new incarnation: Dog & Moon (http://forums.pubsgalore.co.uk/showthread.php?26842-Dog-amp-Moon-Derby).

I would check the micropub list (unless you don't like them) as Derby has a few. I recall word from a while back that the Furnace (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/7088/) is pretty good and it's the Tap for the Shiny brewery. I have to admit to ending up in Derby a few times this year and having not gone any further than the Brunswick and Alexandra near the station. it's a very tempting thing to do! Derby is an easy journey from Brum with cheap advance tickets so is well worth at least one day of just going to pubs and I should be taking my own advice here. When are the next football Internationals?
Can't help with early ones. I only ever look to Spoons for that. Is there such a thing as "befores" any more?

What time is 'early'? Brunswick opens 11am, don't recall any non-spoons opening prior to that, though the Babington does have a good beer range.

I am always too early! I plan to be in the spoons for breakfast by 9 so just looking for a couple of 10am openers. The The City Bar (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/56723/) opens at 10 according to Whatpub.

It is a dump though. The Neptune (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/7162/) opens even earlier, but that's bit of a dump as well!

Opens at 6 am ! My god that is early, even for me. I quite like popping in the odd dump although the Neptune looks to be a full on Derby supporters pub. It has been at least 10 years since I had a crawl in Derby.

Alright Soupy, how are you? Yes I'll be at the match. Which pubs are on your list for the day?
