A trip to Scotland saw off the remaining Scottish JDWs and a day in the Wolverhampton area yesterday provided some welcome decent beer :-

Holden's Black Country Bitter 3.8%
Windswept Blonde 4.0%
Banks's Sunbeam 4.2%
Wibblers Genesis 4.2%
Fyne Ales Hurricane Jack 4.4%
Young's Special 4.5%
Orkney Dark Island 4.5%
Holden's Castle Class 4.6%
Morton Essington IPA 4.8%
Redcastle Tower IPA 4.8%
Joules Kolkata 5.0%
Banks's Sleeping Giant IPA 5.0%
Holden's Special 5.1%
Long Man Wild Man 5.2%
Backyard Penda Black IPA 5.5%
Fyne Ales Sunset Boulevard 5.6%
Thornbridge Jaipur IPA 5.9%
Oakham Green Devil (Bottle) 6.0%
Wooha IPA 6.2%
Kelham Island Mind Control 6.9%

The easy winner is the Kelham Island Mind Control which was truly outstanding for £3.50 in the Wolverhampton Great Western. I've had it before but it had taken such a control over my mind that I had forgotten about it.

One of those rare weeks where nothing was particularly exciting.

Great Heck - Trafalgar.
Titanic - Cappuccino.
Fernandes - Black Chalice.
Ossett - Sorachi Sunset.
Roosters - High Tea.
Fernandes - Polaris.
Fernandes - Triple OOO.

If nothing else, I learnt I really don't like the flavour of Sorachi hops (a synthetic, almost bubblegum, taste). I also struggled with the Cappuccino. I'm sure I've had this before, but I don't remember it being so artificial tasting. Maybe I'm just getting my 'Bah, Humbug!' head on in plenty of time for the approaching siege of Christmas.

Murky and hoppy, it still went down a treat in The Baum.
