Nottingham -- Rose's Oatmeal Stout *

A few days in Liverpool and a day in Somerset gave this list all tried in Spoons :-

Little Beer Little Kahuna 3.9%
Rooster's YPA 4.1%
Weeetwood Eastgate 4.2%
Titanic Cappuccino Stout 4.5%
Lytham Stout 4.6%
Hook Norton Old Hooky 4.6%
Big Bog Will O' The Wisp 4.7%
Great Western Tangerine 4.7%
Kelham Island Pale Rider 5.2%
Titanic Captain Smith 5.2%
Long Man Wild Man 5.2%
Burton Bridge Festival Ale 5.5%
Marston's Old Empire 5.7%
Oakham Green Devil (Bottle) 6.0%
Big Bog Quagmire 6.0%
Peerless Full Whack 6.0%
Peerless Tectonic 6.2%

Two disappointments were the Burton Bridge Festival which seemed to be a malty brown ale and the Long Man Wild Man which showed no resemblance to the JDW tasting notes as it was pale rather than amber and bland for a 5.2% beer.
The Peerless Tectonic is the winner as tried for £2.15 in the Liverpool Lime Kiln.

BOTW Peerless Tectonic

A bit slim on beers in the past week.
Purity Pure Gold
Hopback GFB
Castle Rock Harvest Pale
Oakham Endless Summer
Siren Hit The Ice
Siren Crema
Siren Fevergrass
Butchers Tears Monster Soup (SB)

The Butchers tears was interesting but BOTW was Siren Fevergrass in The Nags Head (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/1691/).

Another quiet one:

Oakham Bishops Farewell*
Church End Goats Milk
Church End Fallen Angel*

Years ago I remember Goats Milk as being a low strength, unexceptional, boring, brown beer. It is now unchanged at 3.8% but pale and gently hoppy and having tried it alongside Fallen Angel, which I've never minded, it feels like a dialled down version in terms of both strength and flavour. It's perfectly drinkable on a warm day but I'm struggling to understand it's CBOB win.

BOTW Church End Fallen Angel.

A visit to Huddersfield provided the usual winning combination of choice and quality. Some great beers, this week.

Salopian - Oracle.*
Bosun's - Tell No Tales.*
Abbeydale - Voyager IPA (No.4).
Deya - Oatmeal Porter. (Keg)*
Vibrant Forest - Session Pale. (Keg)*
Small World - Longmoor Pale.
Anarchy Brew Co. - Blonde Star.
Horbury - First Light.
Empire - Moon Rakers.*
Hawkshead - ITI.
Marble - Tuckerlovsky IPA.
Wild Beer - Millionaire.*
Vibrant Forest - Zuur Rhubarb.
Mallinsons - Mosaic.
Bristol Beer Factory - Seven.
Hawkshead - Lakeland Gold.
2 Roses - Sprocket.
Jolly Boys - Jolly IPA.

Very hard to pick a winner. Both the Tell No Tales and Moonrakers were excellent flavoursome milds, belying their strength, but the Salopian Oracle was just heavenly. Sampled at the ever reliable King's Head (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/62786/).

I have had your botw and enjoyed it.It used to be called Sooty Oatmeal Stout but due to the horribly nasty offensive name ie Sooty it has been changed.wtf

Belatedly:Kent, Gwent and Pembrokeshire.

Canterbury Ales-The Pardoners Ale 3.8%abv-Touch cardboardy.
Tonbridge-Barrow House Brew 3.6%abv- Good earthy unflamboyant session bitter.I think this is Tonbridge Traditional rebadged.
Kingstone-Tewdric's Tipple Ale 3.8%abv-Oat straw session bitter.Chewy hops, long dry finish. From a new brewery for me.
Mantle-MoHo Pale Ale 4.3%-Hedge fruit, nettles.Barley straw.A tough call for BOTW between this and Tewdric's Tipple, but my beer of the week is MoHo, from another new brewery.

Lines Brew Co. Small Beer Cyro Hop. Only 3.2, but what a load of flavour for its strength.

Tried quite a lot in The Baum until it went.
