Muirhouse - Magnum Mild.*
Morton Collins - Wintersett Gold.
Great Heck - Treasure IPA
Tring - Moongazing.*

Both the mild and the Moongazing were excellent. I don't see many Tring beers in my neck of the woods, but I was impressed with this ruby ale featuring Citra and Chinook hops.

Thuck Phat

Mumbles Hop Kick
XT 2 (Pale)*
Abbeydale Deception*
Oakham Bishops Farewell*

A toss up between the XT2 and BOTW Abbeydale Deception. I thoroughly enjoyed the Deception which just had that bit extra depth of flavour. Both very welcome on a hot day.

A visit to the Scottish Borders and a day in West Dorset and East Devon provided this :-

Palmers Copper Ale 3.7%
Box Steam Summer Buzz 3.8%
Black Sheep Best Bitter 3.8%
Broughton Hippopotamus IPA 3.8%
Knops East Coast Pale 3.8%
Dorset Brewing Citrus Maximus 4.0%
Jennings Cumberland Ale 4.0%
Broughton Dark 'N' Cloudy 4.4%
Palmers Dorset Gold 4.5%
Knops Musselburgh Broke 4.5%
Wolf Woild Moild 4.8%
Stewart Black IPA (Bottle) 5.0%
Edinbrew Industrial 5.0%
Stewart Celtman 5.0%
Vibrant Forest Mosaic 5.0%
Palmers 200 5.0%
Kelham Island Pale Rider 5.2%
Oakham Green Devil (Bottle) 6.0%
Stewart First World Problems (Bottle) 6.2%
Stewart Cauld Reekie (Bottle) 6.2%
Stewart Radical Road (Bottle) 6.4%
Stewart Radical Road (Keg) 6.4%

The winner is the Stewart Radical Road either keg or bottled. The cask in the Borders was pretty dismal all round.
It was nice to visit a couple of Palmers pubs after a gap of at least twenty five years. Although their beers are still old school they were vastly better and more diverse than I remembered.

Have you tried their Proper Black from Tesco? I've been going to ASDA for beer since they stopped the multi-buy offers. It's two quid a bottle but as soon as they bring back four for six quid then I'll be back on it. I'm sure Tesco must have noticed that since they stopped the multi-buys the Bishops Finger and Hobgoblin at £1.25 keep selling out while everything else is not moving.

I have tried it on cask and a good beer.Often shop in Tesco,s but haven't noticed the bottled version. Probably thought it was Proper Job.

Tenby Barefoot 4.7% a first beer for me from this brewery.

Very drinkable for 4.7% tasting more like a 3.8% er, in The Baum of course.
