The major change in the latest release is that members can now create pub crawls that are then shown on the site.
When logged into the site and viewing a pub, next to the address is an 'Add to crawl' button. The first time you click on this it will start your pub crawl with that pub as the first pub on the route. Any further additions of pubs to the crawl will add them to the end of the crawl.
If you have clicked on the 'Add to crawl' button, or the 'My Crawl' link on the left (only shown when you have a part built crawl) you will see the Create a Crawl screen. From this screen you can set the title of the crawl and the description, both are necessary before you can finish the pub crawl. After this the pubs in the crawl are shown in reverse order with buttons allowing you to remove them from the crawl or move the pubs up and down the crawl as desired. Under each pub you can see the pubs we think are nearest along with a hint of what direction they are in relation to the listed pub, and a box where you can put any specific information you would like shown about the pub (Best beer to be bought there, that sort of thing).
As well as this there is a button that you can use to look at our best guess map of the route you might take. This is done using Google's maps, which are very nice, but currently only show driving directions, so some of the routes shown maybe fairly amusing. We can't fix the routes at the moment, but you can go to the pubs and correct their locations and the new locations should be changed on your crawls route map.
When you are happy with your pub crawl you can click on the '--- Finish pub crawl and publish ---' button. This will stop you from being able to edit your crawl and make it visible to all our site users. Once this is done any future 'Add to Crawl' presses will start a new crawl.
Have fun, it has been an interesting thing to get working, let us know if there is anything you would like added as well. We are not quite sure how people will use it yet, so are wondering how it will evolve.
