Not certain if this is the same pub but back in the 50s I used to see Rising Sun on bus route boards. Surely not the same one ?

No, that was probably the one in Brownhills West (now closed) opposite the Crown.

......The Animals changed their lyric from Brownhills West to New Orleans because it sounded better :)
