East Sussex: a very quiet fortnight, though I knew March would be thin. However this beer is fair recompense:

Dark Star-Green Hopped IPA 6.5%abv,taken at the always excellent The Salehurst Halt (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/11066/) Thought I'd missed it, this time round.A real stab to the heart-oily, piney hops.Magisterial.

Long Man Long Blonde
Red Cat Scratch
Ballards Golden Bine
Ballards Midhurst Mild
Thurstons Horsell Gold
Shepherd Neame Whitstable Bay
Siren Vermont Tea Party
Wylam 005 Dr Rudi
Cloudwater Autumn Winter Pale Ale
Hopcraft Mate Spawn & Die

BOTW is Cloudwater Autumn Winter Pale Ale, by a short nose from the Siren beer.

Not a huge list this week as although I've been out and about I seem to have spent an awful lot of time on trains and buses.

Woodforde's Wherry 3.8%
Brain's Rev James Gold 4.1%
Blue Monkey Centennial 4.3%
Matlock Wolds Farm Riber Gold 4.3%
Adnam's Ghost Ship 4.5%
Woodforde's Norfolk Nog 4.6%
Hook Norton Old Hooky 4.6%
Green Jack Rising Sun 4.8%
Shepherd Neame Bishops Finger 5.0%
Hairy Brewers Fear The Beard 5.0%
Strathaven Winter Glow 5.0%
Spire Jailbreak IPA 5.4%
Thornbridge Jaipur IPA 5.9%
Oakham Green Devil (Bottle) 6.0%
Brunswick Black Sabbath 6.0%

Unusually every single beer tried was well kept this week but obviously some of these are never going to win anything.
I'm going for a weaker one Blue Monkey Centennial as tried for £3.10 in the Moca bar in Matlock.

Harlow and N21.

Timothy Taylor -- Landlord

McMullens -- AK
Truman -- Zephyr
Bath Ales -- Gem
Charles Wells -- Courage Directors
New River -- Riverbed Red*

Easy winner of BOTW was New River Riverbed Red on top form in The Orange Tree,N21.

A visit to Holborn next week should produce a better list of ales.

Good week for me, including a decent Sunday afternoon session, to celebrate England's stunning victory over the sweaties, on Saturday.

Fernandes - Octohop.*
Ilkley - Hanging Stone.*
Ossett - Silver Link.
Brown Cow - White Dragon.
Beer Ink - Stout.
Elland - Red Rooster.
North Riding - Ekuanot.*
Exit 33 - New England Best.
Revolutions - Grip.
Abbeydale - Voyager IPA.
Ilkley - Tribus Lupulus.
Ridgeside - Granary Pale.*
Mallinsons - Amarillo.
North Riding - Hallertau Blanc.*
Saltaire - Long Day IPA.
Tigertops - AC2.
Revolutions - Hex.
Fernandes - Hopmaster.
Allgates - Pepper Lane.

An easy winner this week, in the Voyager. An absolute beauty from Abbeydale, featuring Mosaic, Citra and Centennial hops. Dangerously drinkable at 5.6% and sampled at Wakefield Beer Exchange (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/81681/).

A heavy work week meant little ale consumed however head and shoulders above the Taylors and Theakstons was Electric Bear Spilt Milk a delightful milk stout, oh God I'm turning into Ena Sharples.

Shurely more Martha Longhurst? Unless you want to own up to wearing a hairnet down the pub?

I bet some of the younger correspondents don't have a clue what this is about!

Almasty Session IPA 4.1% and does exactly what it says on the tin. In The Baum of course.
