Advanced Search

How about having an Advanced Search area? At the moment, when you type in a pub name you get every pub, with exact and near to names from everywhere. With an Advanced Search, you could also put in a county and this would narrow it down quite a lot.

Thanks for that. The idea of an advanced search is something that we have toyed with a lot, and not got round to doing, I think partly due to lack of a visualisation of how we would do it. So do we put a search on the town pages, filter on the search return pages, or just a new search page with advanced options. One of those silly things where we have been hung up on the details rather than just getting on and doing it.

I will look at actually just getting on and adding that now though, if we dont have it in by Christmas I will give an update on why in January, thanks for giving us that feedback.

Hi again Phil,

Been having a play with a solution to this. If you look on the search page now, it will have a couple of option boxes just above the pub results when you do a search. These can be used to filter your search results.

We will probably add a search box to our town and county pages allowing you to just search that town or county, but not for a while now, hopefully this should make it usable till then though.

I often use the filter on county which usually gets me a manageable list, and occasionally use the town and county too.
