Hi guys,
I am writing to raise awareness of the government's new pub code, that will be made law in the coming weeks.
If you're a tied tenant, the new legislation will give you the right to request a free of tie rental offer, known as a Market Rent Only (MRO) offer.
You will be eligible to request this at your next rent review, or potentially right away if you've not had a review for 5 years (this doesn't include an RPI increase). You will also be able to 'trigger' at lease / tenancy renewal.
Pub campaigners have been fighting for this for a number of years, and it has the potential to re-shape the industry, and offer a much fairer deal to Publicans.
Therefore it's really important that tied Publicans are aware of the new legislation.
I run a pub consultancy, and can provide a free of tie rental assessment, and expert advice. I am more than happy to answer any questions from members of the forum.
