Beer clubs

Hi all,

Does anyone subscribe to any of the countless beer clubs ? I seem to get quite a few e-mails from them ( BeerHawk, beer52 etc..).

I must admit to being tempted to try one out but thought I would do a bit of research here first.

It does look a good way to try some new beers but can also work out to be quite expensive. I don't mind paying a bit extra if i enjoy it ...

Any opinions / expreriences from you would be welcome ...

I've not looked into them but have instinctively dismissed them as a rip off.

There are an increasing number of specialist off licences, I can think of three in my area. Have you been to this (https://whatpub.com/pubs/BIR/3633/cotteridge-wines-birmingham) one?

Alternatively brewery taps often sell their own bottles and sometimes others.

We visit Cotteridge Wines and Stirchley off licence. Great choices from them for this country and foreign. I know someone who buys from a beer club, and he accepts it is dear, but is cheaper than the rail fare to get hold of beer from some of the newer breweries.
