I've had a remarkably productive month by my modest standards, but I will nominate http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/58980/ :it being the most allround publike pub, albeit difficult to access by public transport, though it is on a branch of the North Downs Way.

Two pubs in the running in a relatively lacklustre month, they turned out however much unexpectedly better than I imagined they would be. The Half Moon (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/64951/) and The Crown (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/53383/).
Both thoroughly enjoyable pubs but The Crown is POTM by way of a more interesting beer range.
The Bronze medal goes to The Crowns near neighbour The Garibaldi (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/53388/), another decent pub.

My pub for January is the Borehole (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/83122/) in Stone This is Lymestone's second pub and although I'm not a massive fan of their beers I certainly don't have an axe to grind about them. I liked this one because it was quirky and fairly quiet on my early Saturday afternoon visit. The Titanic pub in town is strong opposition as are a couple of Free Houses in Ipswich, but this is the one for me. Although it's outside the town centre it's as close to Stone Railway Station as any of the usual town suspects apart from one.

There were a few good'uns last month, including The Griffin (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/27427/) in Brentford, Cheltenham Motor Club (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/79866/), The Rose & Crown (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/1870/) in Slough and Wraysbury's The Perseverance (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57517/), but my POTM by a country mile, for the simple fact that it ticks so many boxes (as Quinno's review rightly proclaims) is The Bell Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61608/) in Aldworth, Berks.

The Blue Bell (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/43505/) now under new management but still one of the best pubs in York where there's just a little competition.

The Parcel Yard (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/76784/)

I pop in regularly ,yes it owned by Fullers ,yes it's expensive but it has an interesting and quirky interior and consistently a very good guest ale policy usually featuring leading London microbrewers such as Redemption,Weird Bierd and Mondo.IMHO one of the better London station bars.
