With my glass half empty view on life, I'm delighted to kick off this thread. I will try and get around to keep updated a Hall Of Shame for 2015 at the end of the thread.
For once it's not a Spoons from me but a GBG entry with a reputation, I can't actually think of a disastrous Spoons visited last year.
My worst pub of 2015 is the Port Street Beer House (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/72631/). It's a small run of the mill shop conversion with a selection of all sorts of beers. I was served a warm pint of sludge for £4.20 and had to ask for it to be topped up. Some people seem to have fared better but I certainly wouldn't go back to see if it had improved.

Unsurprisingly for me, a Wetherspoons (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/59601/) ,of course I may be biased.

The Fruit Bat (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61566/) in Reading for me, followed swiftly by the clutch of poor offerings in Stanwell (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/areas/stanwell/surrey/) just outside Heathrow, of which you can take your pick!

My first visit with my son in 2012 was fine ,reviewed with an 8 but a revisit in 2014 by four of us,including Mr Phat doing the review, encountered similar problems.Just very inconsistent ???

I doubt if anyone's been back!
Is that your nomination for 2015? It needs to have been visited.

My Berks 100% Challenge saw me go in some awful places this year, but pride of place goes to The Merrymakers (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/1851/) - a classic of the estate pub genre.

A shout also to Rackstraw Farm (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/70263/) which ran it close.

If Port Street was your worst pub of 2015, you must have been in lots of really good ones Aqualung.

I did a crawl round Gorton earlier last year and I think that almost all of the pubs I did that day were worse than Port Street.

However, I'll single out a particularly dire example The Cotton Tree (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/72396/) for my vote.

I think the Royal Standard (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/25217/)in North Woolwich has to be a runner. It's such a shame to see a magnificent old Victorian pub brought so low.

I've been lucky not having "done" all the pubs in an area lately, but a few stinkers would be at least half the pubs in Ripon especially Navigation Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/29387/) (must update that review: it''s now shite) This one The Hare Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/58578/) on the North York Moors for disappointment but the worst in 2015 was easily Leopard Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/34259/)

I accept I may have hit it on a bad day but the experience there was terrible. I try and avoid bad pubs but on my visit this place was abysmal. At least the trendy bars in Chorlton-cum-Hardy had quality but expensive beer even though I generally didn't think much of them.

No contest this year. The honour goes to the utterly soul-destroying Mango Bar (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/68180/)

I really struggled to find the words to convey just how awful this place is.

It is with a heavy heart the I nominate a pub in the Forest of Dean Gloucestershire.

Old White Hart Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/12558/)

The Forest of Dean has been one of the most severely affected areas in Gloucestershire for pub closures. Coleford is a case in point.
It is rare that my partner will leave a drink because of it's condition, but that is what happened at The Old White Hart. Coupled with the fact that the drink that was served by a very unkempt bar person, who didn't seem to give a damn about the condition of the drink.

My worst pub of the year is an Harvester Harvester Trinity Square (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/81912/) added by a serial photographer,so i had to go in and do it,there is a very small waiting area to be seated for dining and a small bar.
I would have given it 2 but the young barman was friendly and the breakfasts seemed a good deal,so 2 extra point for those.

A quick and fairly unscientific trawl through my reviews for 2015 reveals only two pub visits that I have rated lower than Al's 4 for the Harvester: The Wheatsheaf (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/30681/) in Mansfield and Craft & Dough (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/82756/) on Kelham Island.

I can't now remember how Nursery Tavern (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57721/) on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield earned a 4 rather than the 3 or even 2 it probably deserved. Most of my low-scoring visits were to pubs that were slightly disappointing, or just not very pub-like, or which had no real ale and no atmosphere either. The Nursery Tavern, however, was pretty unpleasant from start to finish. Though I have to say it was very busy, and people seemed to be enjoying themselves, so who am I to say different?

Hi will do you think this pub The Viper Rooms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/43129/) or really bar could be a good contender for worst pub of the decade.

It would have to be on my short list. I didn't much like Maggie Mays (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/72333/), one of the others that I did with you that day, though you gave it a 6 compared to my 4. There are a few more around that area that I haven't tried yet, and have been meaning to get around to - possible contenders for worst pub of 2016?
