:D I'm not naming any names, but I can think of a couple of contributors whose livers could be used in the British Trampolining Championships!

Well last night I had an OK pint of Peerless Hilbre Gold, A good pint of White Brewery's Art Of Rother, a couple of good pints of Slaters Top Totty and 2 excellent pints of Kelham Island Grease Band.

Grease Band is winning so far.

[QUOTE=Oggwyn Trench ;12068]No pub for me this weekend

Me too, though I've got time off for good behaviour next Saturday. I've had 2 exceptional bottles recently: Dark Star's Imperial Stout and Gadd's Oyster Stout. Both (a bit) out of my regular comfort zone, but these are beers to savour and relax with. Interestingly, the Gadd's uses Fuggles, together with 6 types of malt. I'm not really a stout drinker, though I was "prescribed" Mackeson's as a young child:apparently I was a sickly brat and needed building up.

Not had Mackeson for years , used to drink it when playing pool in me dinner hour (the only other chose was Ansells Keg Bitter or lager) might try it again when im out on Wednesday

Another close run thing, for a while George Wright "Drunken Duck" was out in front (that man just can't make a bad beer) but then another St Georges Day special took the honours - Saltaire Dark Dragon, a dark malty bitter very different to their usual hoppy brews and quite reminiscent of Jennings Cumberland in its heyday, but with more hops.

JDW Frestival ales to date - still 0.

I must put the Okells Alt as BOTW. Not all the pubs selling it had the good quality but I could have stayed with it at the White House in Peel, and the Terminus Tavern in Douglas. Superb.

Some good 'uns this week but have generally stuck to 'Spoons Fest beers. Triple FFF Rock Lobster, Davenport Beer Hunter and Bank's Morrells Oxford Blue all worthy of a mention and a non-'Spoons beer last night, Cathedral Rentgius, was also pretty decent but I'm going for shock tactics this week and opt for Hawkshead Lakeland Lager as my BotW, not only because it was a very enjoyable and surprisingly good pint but also I'll probably never get another chance to pick a lager without compromising the BotW thread!

I tried the Hawkshead Lager on Saturday in our local JDW and thought it was pretty good as well.

However this weeks BOTW is going to be from Nook Brewhouse in Holmfirth. I've had both the Red and the Best now and they're both very good.

I had the Red two weeks ago, but the Best just edges it for me.

BOTW Nook Brewhouse Best.

Enjoyed very well kept Triple fff Alton Pride and Dark Star Saison in The Charles Lamb,Islington but my BoTW was Oakhams 12 Monkeys consumed in quantity in The Criterion,Leicester.Intensely bitter straw coloured ale, with a grapefruit taste. Once you finished a pint, another was demanded and it simply flew out of the glass.Oakham also supply the Criterion with Bishops Farewell but normally this get snapped up in one session.Oakham Brewery employs mystery shoppers to test their ale quality in the pubs they supply, now there's a job.........

Done most of my drinking in various JDW's this week, so hardly surprising my BOTW is a festival beer. Very impressed with Cairngorm 'Culloden' and Oakham 'Rollercoaster' and it's hard to split them. I guess the Rollercoaster just shades it, because it was a lovely sunny day when I was drinking it and to me it's pure sunshine in a glass.

My BOTW from a fairly sparse selection is Morrissey Fox Blonde, another bottled effort I am afraid, sadly the only pint I had out though was Doombar, and I have to admit to being less partial to that lately.

It was 17 pints and a warm bottle of London Pride for HTM69, last week.

Consumed over a 3-day period:

Guinness x 4
Davenports Deer Hunter x 1
Rhymney Bitter x 1
Rock Lobster x 1
Hawkshead Lakeland Lager x 1
Morrel's Oxford Blue x 1
Old Hookey Bitter x 1
Heineken x 1
London Pride (Bottle) x 1
Springhead Spring Chicken x 1
Cathedral Rentgius x 1
Sharps Doombar x 4

BOTW: Last week was a good 'un beer-wise, with so many excellent choices, but I'll go for Davenports Deer Hunter

A few good ones for me this week including the St Perter's Porter from the JDW festival, Redemption Urban Dusk and something from the Purple Moose brewery at the Bree Louise.

However, my BOTW goes to Burton Bridge's Bridge Bitter, which I enjoyed before and after watching Bournemouth gain promotion to League 1 on Saturday. Happy days!

I had a few good beers last week including the excellent Cairngorm Culloden, one of the JDW festival beers, and a Brains Milkwood. But I’m going to be patriotic and declare that my BotW was the St George’s Flag from the Phoenix Brewery of which I had a number of excellent pints in the Doric Arch Euston.

Well I hope they still ahve some left as I am going to the Bloomsbury Theatre tonight and it is my intention to kill the pre-gig hours in the Doric and the Bree!

Very impressed with Cairngorm 'Culloden'...

I had a few good beers last week including the excellent Cairngorm Culloden...

Apparently, it was brewed especially for the festival. I really hope it becomes a permanent fixture.

They did so I went straight for it. Good stuff but not even Beer of the Pub for me - Kelham Island Pale Rider took that one & could be contender for BotW 2/5 unless the Cask in Pimlico is doing the Dark Star Hophead tomorrow in which case all other nominations go out the window.

A-ha! indeed... Consider yourselves admonished for not using recognised procedures for notifying the forum (shed), in general, of what would appear to be a planned shed-dwellers-on-tour meeting. Tsk tsk!
I'm so skint that attendance wouldn't have been possible but, you know...
