Whitstable-Pearl of Kent 4.5%abv: Ardent golden ale, served fobbingly through a swan's neck. I know today is Yorkshire Day, but Goudhurst is in Kent, for heaven's sake!Tropical fruit:uses Perle hops perhaps?

Shouldn't this be W/E the 2nd of August? The other two are wrong as well.
No cider this week!

Holden's Black Country Mild 3.7%*
Rooster's Wild Mule 3.9%*
Brakspear Oxford Gold 4.0%
Joule's Pale Ale 4.1%
Titanic Iceberg 4.1%
Slater's Butler's Bell (aka Premium) 4.4%
Adnam's Jester 4.5%*
Sambrook's Lavender Hill 4.5%
Harviestoun Schiehallion 4.8%
Redwillow Wreckless 4.8%*
Slater's Western APA 4.9%*
Waddworth Summer of 1842 5.0%
Brodie's Old Street Pale 5.0%*
Brodie's Californian 5.0%*
Mordue IPA 5.1%*
Holden's Special 5.1%*
Rooster's Londinium 5.5%*
Downton Daark Delight 5.5%
Inveralmond Rascal London Porter 5.6%*
Derby Quintessential 5.8%
Phoenix Wobbly Bob 6.0%*

The Wobbly Bob was not Wobbly Bob! It had a taste and aroma of New World hops and was not sweet. I suspect it was their West Coast IPA that had been labelled wrongly. I'm going for the Mordue IPA which was £2.60 in the George at Wanstead. I was surprised to see that it has amarillo and cascade hops in it as I thought the bitterness was much more akin to the English style. Disappointment of the week was the Titanic Iceberg. I'm sure this doesn't have the hoppy bitterness of old and I think the White Star is the same. I found it to be quite a pedestrian golden ale.

BOTW Salopian Treasure Trove. A pale, hoppy and refreshing beer and at 4% ideal for a warm day.

A good week variety wise, but one or two favourites a little below their best.

Small World - Thunderbridge Stout.
Oldershaw - Sunny Daze.
Rat - White Rat.*
Titanic - White Star.
Rudgate - Chocolate Stout.
Hop Back - Summer Lightning.
Revisionist - West Coast IPA.
Goose Eye - Over & Stout.*
Thornbridge - Ashford.
Great Heck - Yakima IPA.*
RCH - Double Header.
North Riding - Oatmeal Stout.*
Titanic - Plum Porter.
Red Squirrel - Redwood APA.
Fernandes - American Pale.
Mallinsons - Ella.*
Raw - Black Forest Stout.
Half Moon - APA.
Rat - Crazy Rat.*

With both the Plum Porter and Redwood APA a little subdued, it was a straight fight between the Ella and Crazy Rat, with the latter just shading it. A very drinkable, intensely fruity APA.

Quite a selection and a mighty difficult choice with BFA and a Kirkstall beer in there,

Rudgate Jorvick
Bradfield Farmers Stout
Pennine Hair of the Dog
Acorn Barnsley Bitter
Ossett Excelsior
Roosters Baby Faced Assassin
Roosters All Star
Roosters White Rose
Roosters Buckeye
Bad Co Bourbon Brown
Bad Co Bounty Hunter
Black Sheep Special Brew #24
Gt Heck Christopher
Tetleys Cask
Theakstons Best Bitter
Ilkley Summer
Kirkstall Three Swords
Hop Studio Porter

I'm going with the Bad Co Bourbon Brown, oak aged in a Bourbon cask, not a session ale at 7.5% but very nice

Late submission due to hols, but it was a fine week.

Mc Mullens -- Cask
Dark Star -- American Pale Ale *
Tring -- Tea Kettle Stout *
Tring -- Lady Hampdens *
Titanic -- Iceberg
Dark Star -- Hydler Blonde
Weird Beard -- Hit the Lights (IPA)*
Tiny Rebel -- Black IPA*
Redemption -- Rock the Kazbek *
Wriggle Valley -- Valley Gold

Decent list and BOTW goes to Tring Tea Kettle Stout on great form in The Old Cross Tavern,Hertford from a brewery that seems to have got it's act together over the last year.

An even later submission due to holidays.

Hales Pressure Drop. a decent enough 4.5% mid brown beer.

Probably wouldn't have won on another week.
