Just had a look at the Shrewsbury listings and they could do with a sort out
Wem http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/towns/wem/shropshire/ should be a town in its own right with these as its villages

This makes sense to me they are both very seperate from Shrewsbury allthough they have Shrewsbury postcodes

Hi Oggwyn,

We don't generate any new towns with the exception of London which is just a mess for us anyway.

The whole system is based on Postal Towns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_post_towns_in_the_United_Kingdom) which are no longer created it is a fixed system that gives us an absolute list of towns that we can refer to and is well documented. Just by way of an example, looking up Wem on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wem) shows Shrewsbury as its Postal Town.

Cheers Conrad , it was worth a try as Wem is a fairly large town about 10 miles from Shrewsbury

Maybe one day we will do it differently, but I don't really see how. The trouble is it is such a nightmare to police, so a nice written in stone system helps make our lives a little easier. Hopefully the site search and maps make it a little more bearable.
