Just spotted posting by hondo

The Prince Albert (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/70442/)

Now demolished

I spent a lot of my childhood, summer or winter, short trousers, sitting outside with my brother [Kids not allowed in bars in the 50s] with bag of Smith's crisps, only crisps available then were the ones with bag of salt inside, and glass of lemonade, whilst my Granddad was inside chatting with his mates, and who could blame him? I don't

The loo was outside, pee against the wall old style

Then we would all walk back to Granddad's house

Heard on radio 4 this lunch time that http://www.randallsuxbridge.co.uk/ is closing in January, my boyhood locations are fast vanishing

Another case of the licensed trade devouring itself? The days when "keeping" a pub was a lifestyle choice rather than a hard nosed business proposition are long over.
