My girlfriends dad, runs and owns this this pub - The Cloisters - www.cloisterspubsalisbury.co.uk (http://www.cloisterspubsalisbury.co.uk/) in the centre of Salisbury, about 2 minutes from the Cathedral.
They have a lot of the original features, open fires in the winter, a lot of ales and a wide selection of beers (also the usual').
I'm obviously going to be a bit biased, but they do an awesome carvery on Sunday's, which I happily scoffed down yesterday (type Salisbury carvery into Google and they're number 1).
Anyhow if any of you are in the Salisbury area and need a want a pint, I'd recommend popping in and seeing what you think.
P.S If you meet David, let him know Olllie sent you, you'll be helping my diplomatic father in law efforts :)

I found the Cloisters an Ok pub but found others I prefered in Salisbury. This (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/41666/) is my honest opinion of what I thought on my recent visit.
p.s. welcome to the forum.
Shouldn't things like this be in the main page as a review rather than setting a precedent of using forum threads as a means of advertising? Alternatively, if a discoutn is being offred to PuG readers, maybe Voucher Watch is more appropriate?
Just saying...

It is an advertising thread and I think he was advertising the pub, but I agree with you it would be better located elsewhere.

Just wondering about this c1350, ETA reckoned 16th C and the date painted on the wall is c1750. I thought it was just OK as well but that's a few years ago now.

Next time I'm in Salisbury I will check it out, but don't hold your breath, not there very often
