Chester has 2 JDWs, one of them, The Square Bottle is one of the worst I've ever been in.

Don't miss pubs are Spitting Feathers Brewery Tap, Bear & Billet, Telfords Warehouse, Mill Hotel, Old Harkers Arms.

Other possibles would be Albion (if they let you in) & Union Vaults.

We were last in the Albion in 2004. Unchanged street corner local retaining classic Victorian layout of lounge. It is on Park Street, and faces the city wall.

Lots of WW1 memorabilia. Interesting to walk round. I seem to remember house rules on a big board outside the pub.
