I am visiting Peterborough this weekend. First time for quite a few years. I know of the Brewery Tap and Charters and hopefully they will be as good as ever. Does anyone have any more up to date info. What are the new must visit pubs in town ? Cheers for any info.

I've not been for a couple of years, but in addition to the two you mentioned, I really rate Coalheavers Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/3010/) (Milton Brewery, 10-15 min walk from Charters) and The Ostrich (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/2992/) (5 min walk from Brewery Tap).

I was thinking of Peterborough this Sat but can't get discount on the fast trains, so doubt it.
I would have Palmerston Arms on my list - reinvented itself in a disappointing way since my initial visit, but still a good ale selection. Near Peterborough's ground, but away to Yeovil this week.
And the one I did want to re-visit, which I haven't since my first tour of P'Boro, probably because it's a mile north of the ones you mentioned, is the Hand and Heart (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61505/), but I now note that it could be combined with the Burghley Club (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/79540/), which I haven't been to, but Gill gives positive feedback...

ps. Wortley Almshouses is worth an architectural look, if you can cope with Sam's...

Burghley Club was fine when we were there. It was in the Good Beer Guide at the time, but is not in the 2015 one.

Thanks for the tips guys. We're staying near the Burghley Club so will definitely give that a go. Fairly sure we will get round all the others as well. Maybe even have time for a few hours in Stamford. I notice there is a beer festival there at the Jolly Brewers this weekend.
All in all enough to keep Millay and myself happy methinks.
