I have a friend who has really got into drinking ale. We both live in Birmingham.

We have done Digbeth, Harborne, the Jewellery Quarter, the City Centre itself, Moseley and Kings Heath, Sutton Coldfield and Walsall.

Can anyone suggest a crawl of 7 - 10 pubs that are relatively close to each other, that do decent ale and are within a single bus journey/short train journey of Birmingham City Centre?

Cheers.

Delph Road in Brierley Hill, The Vine (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/38031/) for a start along with a fair few pubs around here to do which meet the criteria.

Stourbridge has a couple of Batham's tied houses (Royal Exchange and Unicorn), a Holden's tied house (Shrubbery Cottage), a couple of Spoons (Chequers and Edward Rutland) plus a few other possibilities. If you break the journey on the way back at Cradley Heath there are two more Holden's tied houses (Swan and Waterfall).

How about Codsall Station where you can go through the card of Holden's beers then return to Wolverhampton where you can do it all again in the Great Western!

A bus from Wolverhampton to Brierley Hill and crawling back to Wolverhampton (eg via Dudley and Sedgley) has numerous possibilities. The Beacon Hotel closing in the afternoon makes it a pain.

Burton?

Derby?
