Does anyone have info on Brewdog Tokyo.
It is to be featured at a beer festival at Pub Du Vin in Birmingham 1 - 4 April but no ABV is given. Flyer says it has never been offered in cask before.
Bottled variety is 18% ABV. Beer Mad has a Tokyo listed as 12% ABV.
I may be wrong, but I am sure it was on at Tamworth beer festival called Tokyo Black possibly 2008.
Are there 2 different Tokyo's out there?
The only Brewdog Tokyo I've heard of is Tokyo* at 18.2% - Sorry

I have now found out that Toyko came out in cask in 2008 at 12%.
Bottled variety is called Toyko* at 18.2%.
What Pub Du Vin seems to be having at their festival is the first cask variety of Toyko*. The flyer has no asterix and no ABV so I will ring them this morning to check what it is they have. It seems the asterix is the means of separating the 2 beers, both named Tokyo.
Not very clear, when talking about the bottled one I always thought you were supposed to say 'Tokyo Star'.
All some subversive marketing I am sure.

 I am sure I was there but didn't realise Tokyo Black was selling. Maybe I was drunk already by the time I entered the Festival.. :o

Hmmm.. Name of Pub Diu Vin doesnt register with me. I just googled it and it was opened in late 2009. New pub for me! Only few mins walk from Snow Hill.

Just been in touch with Pub Du Vin and they are not sure whether it is 12% or 18.2% Brewdog Tokyo they are getting in. They will make enquiries tomorrow and get back to me.
It is definately going to be the 18.2% Tokyo*
Hope to see you all there,
Darren (Pub du Vin manager)
Hi Darren,
Welcome to the Pubs Galore forums. Myself and Dave M are the administrators of the forums and Pubs Galore site so if you have any problems, queries or suggestions please let us know.
I notice we haven't added your festival to our festivals page (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/beerfestival/upcomingfestival.php), if you let us know all the details we will make sure it is listed and it will show across the site including the Pub du Vin (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/68901/) and Birmingham (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/towns/birmingham/west-midlands/) pages.
Thanks for joining up to let us know about the Tokyo*
