Mini casks-any good?

I saw a couple of"mini casks" in a local shop from my favourite Westerham and Tonbridge Breweries.They seem to hold a gallon and on the face of it, seem better value than bottled beer. Has anyone tried them, and are they real ale rather than bright or worse? Even I could manage a gallon over a weekend!

I've not tried them but this link (http://adnams.co.uk/about/news/beer-news/all-about-adnams-mini-casks/) may shed some light on it. I would imagine that without somewhere at cellar temperature to serve it from it may not be too successful.
