Note to self, make sure I am not a subscriber to nPower, as they clearly just want to waste money.

The logo is appealing on the totty, not sure about rest of it, but who cares, as Pompey sort of supporter I think someone like Barclay's, HSBC or HMRC would be more fitting

We might get enough to sponsor the Spartan South Midlands Premiership for one weekend providing all the games are called off.

Given financial strains on football clubs this season..

Quite appropriate sponsor name for FL as next season is likely to see the lights go out on a few of its FL members..

At least they’re not altering the names of the divisions beyond the sponsor’s prefix this time. So we are spared the pathetic attempts to convince us that “League One” and, before that, “League Division Two” were somehow progressively superior to the 3rd division as was. Idiots.

And while I’m on the subject, why can’t they understand that “League One” and “League Two” are not leagues at all, they are separate divisions of the football league. Every other country seems to be able to cope with this simple concept.

You'll be staying there as well judging by your performance against the mighty Dale on Saturday. :D

Damn I seem to have become "Glass Half Empty instead of "Real Ale Drinker". I preferred being a RAD.:(

Just think with the glass half empty you soon get to get another drink though.

Also we are going to need another rank soon so any ideas welcomed (http://forums.pubsgalore.co.uk/showthread.php?399-Suggestions-from-anyone-with-imagination&highlight=imagination).

I wish it still was - The year that the premiership was formed (1995) Brentford were leading the 2nd division until the end of the season when we were pipped at the post by Birmingham City and finished second. Due to reshuffling the league to have an even 20 teams in the premiership only two teams went up from league 2 meaning that Brentford went into the play-offs and lost, which has become their speciality. A popular chant of visiting supporters near the end of a season when we are doing well is 'you're gonna lose in the play-offs, lose in the play-offs, you're gonna lose in the playay -offs'.

Premier league was formed on 20th Feb 1992 and kicked off in August 1992. First ever Premier League shown live on Sky was Nottingham Forest Vs Liverpool. First Premier league goal was Sheffield United's Brain Deane against Man Utd.

Obviously first ever champions was Manchester United.

:o ok at the end of the 94-95 season the premier league was down sized form 22 teams to 20 meaning that there was a knock on effect throughout the proper lower leagues!

First ever Premier League shown live on Sky was Nottingham Forest Vs Liverpool.

And it was Teddy Sheringham who scored the first ever live televised Premier Leauge goal. He departed for Tottenham Hotspur shortly after, of course.
