The Malt Shovel (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/15839/) in Dartford. I met Roger B there before Dartford v Luton recently, and returned for a celebratory pint after the Hatters had won the game in slightly controversial circumstances. Excellent beer on both occasions, and the service and atmosphere were both very friendly.

The Old Red Lion (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/24079/) A good looking pub inside and out, intersting beers and all on my visit, very well kept.

The Bhurtpore Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61339/) Could easily be Pub of the Year. Seriously good beer, food, it's friendly - it's got it all really. Excellent.

My pub of the month goes to The Green Room (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57713/) a cracking bar with a very friendly landlord and some great proper music playing, not a place for real ale types with only two real ales on,i could have stayed in this place all day which says a lot about it.

Just has to be The Craven Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/37562/) . Two visits in April ,both outstanding on the ale front, and a decent pub to boot.

Another quiet month for new pubs, but I was impressed with the beer selection at Tapped Leeds (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/81228/), even if it is more Euston Tap than York Tap.

Free Trade Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/36452/) in Newcastle. A fine pub in the old style.

It will become a must visit for us when in Newcastle I expect.

A very thin month for pub visiting, however, this pub,The Plough Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/16045/), under fairly new ownership, still seems as good as it ever was.A policy of supporting Kent microbrewers and using local produce. What's more, they are hosting a new and hopefully flourishing Farmers Market. Plan to be there tomorrow.

Carriers Quarters (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/69048/)

A pub that would have won in almost any other month.
