After a two week abstinence due to being in hospital (not too serious, I think they thought I was an "interesting" case) I've been playing catch up.

Brodie's Kiwi 3.8%
Brodie's Shoreditch Sunshine 3.9%
Blindman's Golden Spring 4.0%
Brodie's London Fields 4.0%
Brodie's Bethnal Green Bitter 4.0%
Brain's White Out 4.0%
Fuller's Brit Hop 4.1%
Five Points Pale 4.4%
Bateman's Negne O Brown Ale 4.5%
Palmer's Dorset Gold 4.5%
Wild Card Jack Of Clubs 4.5%
Dartmoor Jail Ale 4.8%
Exe Valley It's Phil's Ale 4.8%
Growler Hell Hound 4.9%
Hopcraft Reign Of Terror 4.9%
Brodie's Old Street Pale 5.0%
Purity Saddle Black 5.1%
Yeovil Posh IPA 5.4%
Shepherd Neame Fermin Red Ale 5.8%
Hopcraft Fault Line Black IPA 6.0%
Greene King Double Hop Monster IPA 7.2%

The winner probably shows some bias as it was the first one tried half an hour after being released on parole from hospital. The low ABV Brodie's beers (mild excepted) normally fly under my radar but on this occasion I wanted a rapid intake of tasty weak beer.
The Kiwi was a superb low ABV hop bomb, possibly too extreme for the Boring Brown Brigade but heaven for a Hop Head like myself. After this and the Shoreditch Sunshine the London Fields Pale was positively sweet.

BOTW Brodie's Kiwi

Holden's Aging Bull
Hilegard's Solange
Caledonian Port Leith IPA
Oakham Citra, Bishops Farewell
Wood Farm Grand Slam

BOTW, to my surprise, is Caledonian Port Leith IPA. Looks a boring brown beer but is a much better IPA at 5% than the other one which Caledonian do.

After two very quiet weeks, it was great to squeeze in several sessions and have some very good beers.

Hilden - Nut Brown.
Standeaven - African Pale Ale.
Elland - Red River IPA.*
Rat - White Rat.*
Rat - Ratty Belafonte.
Five Towns - Outwood Gold.
Tigertops - Black Hop Stout.*
Mallinsons - Amarillo.
Saltaire - Raspberry Blonde.
Castle Rock - Harvest Pale.
Clarks - Heroes.
Five Towns - Niamhs Nemesis.*
Partners - Triple Hop.
Rat - Rata Nui.*
Elland - Lambi.
Hopback - Spring Zing.
Moles - Mole Catcher.
Ilkley - Black.*
Moorhouses - Pride of Pendle.

Barely a cigarette paper between the Red River, Black Hop Stout and Rata Nui, but for sheer drinkability the former has it. A lovely hop forward IPA, but with a juicy malt base offering great balance.

Tigertops is Wakefield's Cinderella micro, almost certainly the least well known of the city's breweries. However, as a one man operation, Barry 'Axeman' Smith is certainly churning out some beautiful beers at the moment. Black Hop Stout was my runner up this week and his Hop Rain was BOTW w/e 16th Feb. There's usually a Tigertops beer on at Harry's Bar, so if you're still on for a trip north in July 'BF', I'll have to take you there.

Just sorting out the dates ,but the good ship plus crew will be in Wakefield in early July ,so that's a very kind offer that will be certainly taken up.Two other drinkers who were with me in The Craven Arms but dont review on this site also voted Tigertops Duel as their beer of the weekend against some strong competition.May the Axeman continue churning.

Wilson Potter Don't Fall tried at Oldham Beer Festival. A pale hoppy blonde beer with lots of flavour at 3.9%

It was also Ms CAMRA's BOTW as well.
