I was supposed to visit this pub on my birthday back in November, but my other half was very ill at the time, so the trip got cancelled. I've now got a visit pencilled in for the 11th March, as I'm going to be in the area for a few days either side of Bournemouth's match at Blackburn.

It beat 35,778 other pubs as only Real Ale pubs are "in the hat!"

Apparently its a pub that appeals to all parts of the community. It doesn't show football .When did we football lovers get excluded from the community. I notice a few pubs now seem to glorify in this no football idea. Nice pub-nice beer -nice football.Whats wrong with that.

Should have reviewed this about 3 years ago when I called in on Sunday afternoon, and have now no excuse not to revisit as I only live about 8 mile away.
