I never mark a pub as temporay closed because i may never see the pub again to mark is as open.

I have noticed many pubs that are marked as temporily closed, the Gibralter Gardens in Norwich was marked as such on the 12 April 2010.

I think this pub opened a few years ago,but it is still shut on this site.

My question is there a need to mark a pub as temporily closed when there is no doubt that it will open again.

If a pub is obviously only closed for a refurb for two or three weeks I would think there is no need to mark it closed, it wouldn't hurt to leave a note on the pub page mentioning it though, in case some one is planning a visit at the time.

I would like to think that more local members would mark pubs reopened if marked closed previously by others not local. I know I've marked pubs outside my local area closed/reopened, if anything it's nice to discover pubs not closed. Closed pubs unless local you may not know the closed reason so they remain closed but you could prevent a pointless journey.
