When I first started drinking a lot of pubs still had outside lavatories and some had no lady's facility's at all unless the landlord let the woman use the staff one as most did. Is there still any pubs left with a outside bogs. Yes amazing too the younger readers even when I was young we still had a outside lav and a tin bath until the late 60s at home.:D

There is a pub in Brighton with an outside toilet. Sign above it has "used beer department" if I remember it right.

I've been in lots of pubs with outside toilets, including the much loved Duke of Hamilton! My granddad had an outside toilet until the early 80s!

The gents here,The Cover Bridge Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/58503/), my all time favourite, are outside,as are those here The Red Lion (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/59104/), another excellent pub. I say, keep the bogs outside!

I think the Rake Bar, Borough Market,s toilets could be classed as outside.

The Trotter Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57847/)

Cotham Porter Stores (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/311/)

The Crown Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/54737/)

Miners Rest (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/501/)

To name a few I'm aware of after recent visits. Blackthorn will be along soon to add some more.

By outside I assume you mean not within the actual building without going outside to get to them and they are covered and not equating to finding the closest tree?

A few I remember, although I haven't been to some of these for years

The Tudor Rose (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/59809/)
White Horse (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/64073/)

This had them moved inside causing a great furore among the customers, after all it's a disgusting thing to do inside a house or pub
The Newport Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/59812/)

This one now has them in the former pig sty across what used to be the farm yard, I can't remember what we did before
Royal Oak (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/64070/)

this one had bats nesting in the roof IIRC
Cuckoo Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/65621/)

This one has inside toilets, but the ancient monument outside is far nicer
The Crown Hotel (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/58502/)

They seem to be very rare down South. Most of them used to be at the remote rural pubs owned by the likes of Brakspear, King & Barnes and Ridleys. Around twenty years ago I seem to recall K&B having a campaign to "upgrade" their few remaining houses with oustside toilets. I believe the last pub I visited with a semi outside Gents was the infamous Mill Inn at Aberystwyth.

The only other one that immediately springs to mind is The Blue Flame Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61812/)

Sadly landlord Mick has passed away since my review, but the pub is now being run by his daughter.

I remember outside toilets very well as I have just left my local The Sun (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/66222/) at Rhewl, Llangollen.
The new landlord has recently added hot water and we even get a toilet roll now.

When I used to drink in Stockport in the 1970's - 90's, it was reknown as having the highest propotion of outside toilets in the country. Long time GBG entry, The Crown, used to have a description, "Awsome view of the viaduct from the outside Gents".
Women often go into the gents to look at the "Awsome view" (but I'm not sure they look at the viaduct!)

I think the outside toilets at the Red Lion Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/30355/) in Alnmouth win the prize for being the furthest from the bar. Any more distant and you'd need to take a round of sandwiches with you, in case you got hungry on the way! Cracking pub though.

The Old Town Hall Vaults has toilets outside which are the only listed (not leaning) outside toilets in the country. http://www.joulesbrewery.co.uk/pubs/pub_details.php?id=11

Great pub with great beer but had a really strange encounter with the barmaid but don't want to go off topic.

How could I have forgot the Flame been going there for years. LL died a about March 2012 from memory/reading in paper iirc. About time for a return visit me thinks last visit was January 5th 2013. Subtle upgrades/changes looked like they were being implemented hope they haven't stolen the true character of the place.

The Fox (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61784/) Also has some after a revisit yesterday.

I've just found another one, for the gents at least. The ladies have the luxury of staying inside the pub.

Ye Gods. It looks like the sort of place they carried out ritual sacrifices in, thousands of years ago. Next time I'm walking in Nidderdale, I must call in. :)
