The Pelican in Gloucester will take some beating, as the Bull and Bladder in Brierley Hill was a revist, but still sublime

My pub of the month for October goes to The Wheatsheaf (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/21087/) a really nice looking pub from the outside and just as good once inside, with cracking Everards beers on the bar.

The Kings Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/24204/), despite the fairly high prices ,a cracking boozer with a real buzz about it.

Tapping The Admiral (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/72375/) in Camden / Kentish Town.
It was quiet on my weekday afternoon visit.

The Elephant Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/16038/) In Faversham. Well worth a visit, and it's not a Shepherd and Neame house despite being in Faversham.

The Nags Head (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/42243/) Excellent pub and very hard to leave.

The Black Lion,Nantwich (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61341/) gets POTM,it's been a real ale outlets for years but has had a chequered past.In and out of the GBG and even closed for a while but the new team here have done a great job. The building speaks for itself,it ticks all the right boxes and the pub is now a very good reason to plan a revisit to Nantwich.

Despite having enjoyed an excellent couple of hours in The Cover Bridge Inn,which is probably my ideal pub, my vote goes to Strathmore Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/5203/), the most northerly pub in the old North Riding.Wonderful atmosphere and welcome, and busy on a wet Wednesday afternoon in October.Classic.

The Bhurtpore Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61339/), Aston near Nantwich gets my vote this month. Ten handpumps featuring well selected beers, good food, warm fires and a warm welcome. I wish it was closer to home.

After a lot of thought the Snooty Fox n5 gets my vote. I have reviewed and rated this pub but the more I visit it the more I like it.Very friendly and great beer fests.

I wish it was closer to ANYWHERE!:D

It's a fair walk even when moored up in Wrenbury!

That's true but worth it given the alternatives.

The skipper's handy cut through using the footpaths shortens the distance - especially on the way back for some reason.

The Pelican in Gloucester will take some beating

I agree, the Pelican is a cracking pub, but for me it was just beaten by The Wild Boar (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/37375/) in Warwick.

That's really helpful,I've often struggled to find a decent pub in Warwick and usually get no further than The Cape of Good Hope.Something new to aim not far from the cut.
