A modest selection this week, I wish I had gone for beers I hadn't tried before in some cases :-

Oakham JHB 3.8%
Hook Norton Old Hooky 4.6%
Brodie's Old Street Pale Ale 5.0%
Triple fff Jabberwocky Black IPA 5.0%
Hawkshead Cumbrian 5 Hop IPA 5.0%
Shepherd Neame Bishop's Finger 5.0%
Hopcraft Mosaic Pale 5.2%
Thornbridge Jaipur IPA 5.9%
Adnams / Sixpoint Bengali Tiger 6.4%

The condition of some of these beers left something to be desired but the two outstanding ones were the Bengali Tiger and the Jabberwocky.
The Jabberwocky wins it served in immaculate condition for £2.45 in the Walton on Thames Spoons The Regent. The Black IPA is becoming my favourite beer style.

Essex:Quiet

Mighty Oak-IPA 3.5% abv.Decent old school (not "Modern") session strength IPA. Initial sweetness-long spicy hop finish.
Three Bs-Stokers Slake MILD 3.6%abv. Jet black MILD. Hoppy, with too much roastiness for my taste.
My BOTW-Mighty Oak IPA

From feast to famine, partially self imposed to recover from a week of true excess.

Greene King -- IPA (only a half ,mind)
Fullers -- London Porter
McMullens -- Country Bitter

BOTW was the bottle of Fullers London Porter from Sainsburys which I think still counts.Really hope I can find some of this on cask as the autumn weather draws in.

Next week back in the saddle with a Hertford session and a visit to the Edgar Wallace.

I've just made some plum and apple pickle with a bottle this. Seems to have come out very well but the real test'll be in a couple of months once it's had time to 'mature'. The 'spare' bottle slipped down very easily.

Only one visit to the boozer this week and then only for a couple pints of BOTW Oakham Bishops Farewell.

Another very quiet week for me.

Fernandes - Malt Shovel Mild.
Atomic - H Bomb.
Mallinsons - Citra.
Oakham - Inferno.
Rat - Rat Attack.

Very little between the Rat and the Citra, but for sheer drinkability I'm going to give it to the Rat, an amber coloured, dry hopped pale ale. Superb flavour for 3.8%. A great session beer.

Jennings - Crag Rat
Banks - Sunbeam
Hobsons - Town Crier
Purple Moose - Ysgawen
Kent - Beyond the Pale
Titanic - Cappuccino
Mallinsons - 599

BOTW Titanic - Cappuccino easily passed the three pint test :D

For a change the BOTW wasn't tried in The Baum.

Todmorden Beer Festival supplied it with Welbeck Abbey Aphrodite.

Brewed with Riwaka hops giving it a slightly grapefruity taste and at 5% dangerously drinkable.
