I am in London for a coiple of weeks and doing a nostalgia trip.

On a previous trip in 1978 I visited 2 pubs and I would love to revisit them

One was somewhere off Tottenham Court Rf? It was quite unique because all along the counter there were little doors that were open to serve you & then closed afterwards.

The other was in Soho & was near a theatre & the pub had a name something like The Fallen Woman.

Can anyone help me locate these pubs Please?

I think the doors you are describing are what are called snob screens. They are a Victorian invention, designed to allow patrons a degree of privacy. Unfortunately some patrons used that privacy for less than salubrious activities, thus officialdom tended to frown on them, which is why there are so few of them left these days. Anyway, I wonder if the pub you are thinking of is The Lamb (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/21988/)? It's a good few minutes' walk from Tottenham Ct Rd, but It's the best contender in my opinion. There are some good photographs of the snob screens and general interior of the pub on its page.

I don't know the other pub I'm afraid. In fact Soho is in the middle of theatreland so every pub there will be fairly near to a theatre. Maybe someone else will have some thoughts.

Rex has mirrored exactly what I thought about the pub with Snob Screens.

This is a long shot, but could the Soho pub be The Angel (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/22070/) in St Giles? The link being Fallen Angel, which the sarcastic punters may well have called the pub. It is close to the Shaftesbury Theatre. The only Woman's name in pub names I can think of in the area is "Nell".

By the mores of the time Nell Gwynne was certainly a fallen woman! There is a pub called the Nell Gwynne (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/53858/)and another called Nell of Old Drury (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/22121/).
