Easy choice this month.The fabulous Sheffield Tap had everything I could want from a pub.South Yorkshire got the Sheffield tap us Londoners got the Euston tap.Not fair.

Having had an excellent few days at York for the beer festival, I could put York Tap, but to be honest, there are too many good pubs in York for me to make a fair choice.... York Tap, Slip Inn, Swan, Brigantes, Maltings. The list could go on.

Easy choice for me as well, The Gunmakers Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/23325/). Never had a bad pint here in fact they're nearly always exceptional,a good looking pub from the outside and a good drinking experience within, firmly up there with the best London can offer in my opinion the only downside is, it is closed weekends.

The newly done up and re-opened The Dolphin Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/32210/) well worth the short walk in the wrong direction .

Will have a look at the Dolphin next time I'm up there. We went a few times when it was a brewpub, and never managed to get the brew!!

Very quiet on the new pubs front this month, but a second visit to The Maltings (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/43595/), York proved very enjoyable. A natural double header with the York Tap, in some ways I prefer its smaller, cosier feel. Beer quality is excellent. God knows what it was like trying to get served before the extension was built.

A couple of contenders this month, really enjoyed the King Charles in Worcester, excellent beer and best cob of the year. This one Hop Pole Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/42083/) gets my POTM - a great local's pub this one, friendly staff, great beer, could stay a good few hours here.

Tempted to go for BHT (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/65860/), where I watched the dismantling of the forces of darkness last week (4th goal lost me £900), but I'll opt for Generous Briton (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/20797/), which wasn't on my initial Loughborough list for Saturday but a pal noted its local Camra win - very decent ale range, good bustle about the place during footy, and the first time I've ever seen a dartboard (one of their two) illuminated from the actual board surround-mounting. I did make some proper notes, for a change, but couldn't find them by Sunday! Beers included JHB, Salopian Shropshire Gold & Golden Thread, good Bass, maybe 7 or 8 in all.

A tough call, both first timers for me but probably won't stay in that category, there's Southsea's Leopold Tavern (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/14000/) or the delightful The Well House Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/35502/) visited at the weekend. Struggling to decide, might both need a revisit.

A bit foody, but friendly, and a good pitstop on the way to Norwich:The White Hart Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/62680/). What's more , the beer is served on gravity from a temperature controlled taproom.

Completely transformed from a student dive into a GBG2014 listed real ale pub. Top job guys. :cheers:

I enjoyed a visit to The Old Harkers Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/3384/) in Chester.
You can moor outside, the atmosphere's good and the service friendly, the beer range is excellent and includes an outstanding Flowers Original as a regular and you have the choice of a Thai/Tempanyaki restaurant above and posh curry house next door when you've finished.

The stand out for me in September was The Bhurtpore Inn,Aston. (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61339/) Up to 12 real ales constantly rotating chosen by a landlord who likes his beer and is not afraid to offer high ABV's,a range of styles,and will give up and coming micros a go.No chance of seeing any of the real ale horror show such as Bombardier,GK IPA,Doom Bar ,OSH etc etc....Great interior,good food,eclectic ale range all in a sleepy little village in the middle of nowhere,yet walkable from the canal.

My pub of the month for September goes to the Spring Cottage Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/7442/) a back street Ilson pub that i have been in loads of times,it has been done up but is still a very nice pub.
