I have not yet posted a review of my pub of the month but it is the newly refurbished Rose Se1 near the Borough market.I will have to check it out again after seeing on twitter that they have a floor made from pennies which I completely failed to notice. Alcohol may have played a part in this oversight.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and nominate the newly opened Leyton Technical (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/80603/) in E10 as the pub of the month. The reason I have reservations about it as when I went there on the first Saturday they were open, the beer selection was well below what you would expect from an Antic pub. I'm hoping this will improve and I'll be returning in a couple of weeks time. Sadly it doesn't open until 16:00 on weekdays.

Best pub I visited during August has to the The Holy Inadequate,Etruria,Stoke on Trent. (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/52833/)

Rather like The Nags Head in Reading, the pub has been revived by an ale loving owner. This street corner local is now a must visit (IMHO) if you are visiting SoT,where there are now some outstanding pubs dotted about.Although an intimate knowlewdge of the local bus routes would be needed for a good crawl,I can forsee the day when a PuG crawl hits the area.

A great discovery for me this month only six or seven miles from my doorstep, The Alfred Freehouse. (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/35750/)

Discovery for me too, Bingley turned out to be a worthwhile destination with a hard choice between several of its pubs, I'll agree with my friends in Bradford Camra - Off the Tap (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/79058/)

Just a couple of new pubs this month, but really enjoyed The Red Lion Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/60909/) in the pretty Derbyshire village of Litton. It's a cosy stone built pub, on the edge of the village green, featuring beers from local breweries.

I've been in a number of very good pubs during August:

The Bell Jar (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/66762/), Sheffield
The Waggon and Horses (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/58185/), Bleasby, in the Trent valley
Just Beer Micropub (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/74151/) in Newark
Cheshire Lines Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/27031/) in Southport
The Bricklayers Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61697/) and The English Rose (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/54811/) in Luton, now that the football season's started
The Mount Pleasant (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/43265/) in Norton Lees on the outskirts of Sheffield
The Dukes Head (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/25473/) in Highgate, London
The Lamb (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/25502/) in Holloway Road, London
The Craft Beer Co. (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/54009/) in Islington
The Southampton Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/23788/) in Gospel Oak, London
The Blake Hotel (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/43068/) in Sheffield
Crown Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/55310/) in the Clun valley, Shropshire
The Red Lion (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/45508/) in Caersws, Powys
The Tanners Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/65768/) near Brecon
King & Castle (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/42167/) in Kidderminster

It's not often that I visit a pub that I like better than the Blake, my local, but the last time I was in there all the beers were pale and hoppy:(, so the excellent Stonehouse Station Bitter (http://www.stonehousebrewery.co.uk/stonehouse-beers-station-test.php):drinkup: allows the Crown at Clunton (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/55310/) to sneak through on the rail and get its head in front on the line.

Another visit to Sheffield and 3 more visits to Henry's (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57715/)

It's more of a bar than a pub, but the ale range and quality is excellent.

Grand pub!

Indeed. Unfortunately, as we were a bit pushed for time, we had to choose between The Red Lion and the nearby Three Stags' Heads, at Wardlow. Almost impossible.
