Before my trip to Ashover I checked the previously unphotographed pubs on streetview and in the postcode finder to make sure they existed. The Red Lion did not appear in streetview but a Red Lion Cottage was in the Royal Mail's list, so I marked the pub as closed. However, on visiting Ashover in real life, and, more to the point, having had a drink in the "Chesterfield & District Camra pub of the year 2006, 2009 and now 2013" as it says very proudly in the banner displayed across the front of the pub, it is now apparent that The Old Poets Corner (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/54919/) and the Red Lion Hotel (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/6928/) are one and the same. There are photos on the walls there showing its gradual transformation from the original village inn and the addition of the Brewers Tudor, there is the original inn sign hanging (inside) and also an interesting newspaper cutting from 1944 about the landlord being prosecuted and fined £20 plus costs for serving after time. This is a long-winded but (I hope) interesting way of saying please delete the Red Lion.
