An early contender for me would be The Hope (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/72763/) - a splendid addition to the Stockport scene with 11 handpumps, 4 of which had offerings from in-house brewery Fool Hardy Ales. Slightly longer walk up Wellington Road than expected (maybe because The Railway was mapped wrongly here, now corrected), but any bus in this direction would drop you nearby...

I'm also pleased to say that the nearby Magnet got a good bill of health this time - my first visit with no beer returns, unlike my beloved Crown which wasn't putting its best foot forward on Saturday.

Working the next seven days straight through so won't be visiting any more pubs other than my local this month so my POTM is going to be the Cock Tavern (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/25052/), my first visit and I liked it immediately before I got to the bar. and the Howling Hops beer on offer didn't disappoint. Was also impressed with the revitalized Wenlock Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/23683/), and the quality beer in the Old Fountain (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/23350/), but a good debut for the Cock tavern just stole the day.

The Malt (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/70792/) in Lichfield. Top quality ale served in an '80's wine bar. Brilliant!

It may have among the worst lavs in the capital up a tortuous spiral staircase, and a windowless room where most of the seating is located but judged solely on ale quality that I sampled,I have to give POTM to The Euston Tap. (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/71412/).

At long last I've found a spiritual local, when staying with family in West London. The Tabard (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/24737/) is now my go to pub. Eight hand pumps, usually serving some interesting choices, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Love sitting on the patio, underneath the theatre staircase, when the weather allows, breathing in the enticing aromas from the Lebanese restaurant round the corner. Also, the friendliest pair of robins I've ever come across.

My pub of the month for June goes to the Red Lion Inn (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/32098/) a pub with different areas to suit different tastes and some really nice Joules ales on the bar.
