On the face of it you would think this pub, the Estuary (https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Llansanffraid+Glan+Conwy&hl=en&ll=53.267786,-3.796839&spn=0.004267,0.011362&sll=52.8382,-2.327815&sspn=8.830698,23.269043&oq=llansanfraid+glan+&t=h&hnear=Llansanffraid+Glan+Conwy,+Conwy,+United+King dom&z=17&layer=c&cbll=53.267897,-3.796756&panoid=TfY1WUNBsT72jRN9byJV4A&cbp=12,334.66,,0,-0.17) in Llansanffraid Glan Conwy, North Wales, has a lot going for it. Formerly known as the Conway Vale, it’s an attractive gabled building, in a good situation on the main road next to the scenic Conwy estuary, and not far from the major population centres of Llandudno and Colwyn Bay. But, when I recently passed the site, it’s been completely flattened.
And, a couple of miles down the road, the once-popular Tal-y-Cafn Inn (https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Tal-y-cafn&hl=en&ll=53.228122,-3.817288&spn=0.002136,0.005681&sll=53.183595,-3.419223&sspn=0.002151,0.005681&oq=tal-y-cafn&t=h&hnear=Tal-y-cafn,+Conwy,+United+Kingdom&z=18&layer=c&cbll=53.227971,-3.817341&panoid=V0Ue6iP3xkxpcnVxLi_rNg&cbp=12,355.08,,0,0.93), also well-situated by the river, is closed and boarded too.
