After viewing the candidates tonight do you envisage it being a successful event? When will they select 16 people that you can instantly not see being fired as being muppets. Guess it makes good viewing for 12 weeks.

Thanks for the heads up, Gill. Will have to put aside my intense dislike of Alan Sugar, but will give it a peek.

Watching and the phrase "Couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery springs to mind."

It sprang from Sugar's lips towards the end.

I can only assume that the beers they produced were keg Banks's Bitter with flavour concentrate added. Presumably brewing a real new beer from scratch would have blown the budget for the program.

The things that made me laugh were the total inability of the girl's team to calculate the flavour quantity from the test run and the fact they went hawking their product in a WINE bar in Richmond! For those that don't like this program it's fiascos like this that make it compulsory viewing.

I scooped the Rhubarb and Riches in the Craft beer co about 6 months ago. I was not told who brewed it but it was connected to a tv program. Brown boring rubbish with no flavour of rhubarb. Not surprised it was Banks.

To go slightly off topic here I brew my own wine and have in the past made highly successful Rhubarb and Strawberry concoctions.

Maybe I should drop a line to Wolverhampton.

Incidentally, I've always found Spanish strawberries much superior to the English ones.

It was all good harmless fun at the end of the day. The "Apprentices" largely looked like they'd never seen the bottom of a pint glass before, let alone any decent real ale so it's no great surprise that the beer they produced was rubbish.

Pretty shocking that they thought they could turn up to a buyer without a beer sample though - even though they allowed them to sniff the bottle haha.
