Feeling in one of my statto moods this afternoon and was just curious to know how complete the site is in terms of photos, so decided to look at the breakdown by county and thought I'd share the results.

Just two to do then to get Bristol top on 100%! Thanks mostly to Jonathan Wilde I might add.

It looks like BrewDog (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/631/) and Bristol Fashion (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/79134/) are the only two outstanding. Couldn't you pop out and do them on a lunch time Dave? :)

Thanks for the stats, Dave. Just the sort of get out of bed call that photographers need...

I've been having a go at some of the photoless pubs in South Yorkshire, outside Sheffield (still one to do (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/76173/) there, but I'm waiting for the weather to improve as it's a long way to cycle). Picked up a few in Barnsley this week, and if my recent posts in the That Doesn't Go There! (http://forums.pubsgalore.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?6-That-Doesn-t-Go-There!) forum bear fruit:pray:, I'll have completed Barnsley town centre without leaving my computer desk. (Can't find the emoticon for a smug grin.)

Thanks Dave. Interesting stuff. It seems that things generally get more patchy when you leave England. 101 unphotographed London pubs? We'll have to up our game.

Oh, and thanks for the new word (statto) - new to me anyway.

Sadly a third of the unphotographed pubs in North Yorkshire are in Middlesbrough, I knew we should have left Cleveland alone. There's a few in Saltburn so I might have a day at the seaside and hope the wind isn't blowing from Teesside

Really interesting stuff Dave, I like these kind of facts, need to up the game in my native Hampshire, being far flung N.E Hants I tend to gravitate toward Surrey and the big smoke but will try to up my game a little more locally, the trouble with this is, public transport out in the sticks is useless if not non existent and driving is a bit counter productive. Still, will have to try a bit harder.

Bristol Fashion has just entered my list of great pub names.

The name is definitely good, shame about the pub it is wasted on. It is a pretty dull Beefeater. :(

Oh I do love stats. It shows some very interesting results. Like Herts 99.8% but Bedford letting the whole area down on only 80.0%. I knew Wales would be low (I hope I have helped Clwyd stay on top) but South Wales is extremely poor, even (especially!) in the high population areas in Glamorgan.

But the real champion and first to 100% must be The Isle of Man with 89 out of 89 plus all seven closed pubs.
The photographers there certainly weren't legless!

Thanks for the Stats Dave,

I always like looking at things like that, there no surprise that Nottinghamshire is well down the list, who would want to visit the grim areas of north Nottinghamshire,i did but years ago when there were lots of pubs open in the old pit towns but i did'nt take any photos.
I dont think it likely that i will ever revisit these areas.

If the photographers of Bristol are now bored with nothing left to capture, they should renew their passports and travel over (or under) the river to Wales where the neighbouring county of Gwent is the least photographed in Great Britain.
Take a trip up to Abergavenny or one of the two areas with 0% photos (Blaenavon and Ebbw Vale).

I am checking how long it will take to get down to South Wales on my bus pass.;)

Does this page update as soon as you add a photo to a pub that has not been photgraphed before.

Dave M

It updates at the point I approve the photo.

So for example Shropshire currently has 88.5% coverage and is in 17th position - but I have a few outstanding photos that need approving from Alan H which I think may push it up past Cheshire and into 16th.

Also Old Boots has submitted a few in North Yorkshire that may well be enough to move it above Greater Manchester in the table - still a few more needed to overtake Lancashire though... :)

We have now just passed 42,000 pubs photographed (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/stats/photos-counties.php) and North Yorkshire has reached 100% for which I think we have Old Boots to thank for making a few special trips!

I noticed today, that leaves me with 3 to photograph in Bristol County and only 2 closed ones left then I'll be 100% for all of them listed I think. I've got pictures of a fair few older closed ones but no point adding them as they are long gone. Well done OB & OCD.

I'm trying to apply my own version of OCD to South Yorkshire, but there's a stumbling block - the Wetherspoons (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/56329/) "airside" at Robin Hood Airport. I've just submitted the photos on the final previously unphotographed pub in Barnsley (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/townsp/barnsley/south-yorkshire/) - that just leaves Doncaster to do and then South Yorkshire will be complete. The bad news is, there's about 90 of them! (And they're scattered around among nearly as many suburbs and villages - that's an awful lot of cycling and with winter coming on, too.) So if anyone has a bit of time on their hands, please get yourself up to Doncaster and photograph some pubs.

PS Thanks to Dave for getting those last Barnsley photos up so quickly.

I seem to remember that Strongers is going to Donny after the PuG Leeds meet up ,so you could prevail on his good nature. He does seem to pack a lot of pubs into his crawls.:notworthy:However as most of the unreviewed pubs in Doncaster Town are in the notorious Silver Street he may have his hands full imbibing there on a Saturday night.
