Hi all,

Off to Bradford for the match next Tuesday night. Not sure how long I'll have before the match but should be able to take a few pubs in.

Any tips ??

Cheers,

Del.

On a recent visit to Bradford (not fully written up yet, unfortunately), I enjoyed the following: Monty's (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/78799/), The Sparrow (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/73922/), The Corn Dolly (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/39973/), The Fighting Cock (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/39994/), Haigy's (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/40023/) and The Shoulder Of Mutton (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/40163/).

Unfortunately, the New Beehive (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/40076/) and the Castle (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/39963/) were both major disappointments (although I might have caught both on a bad day) and the Boy & Barrel (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/55092/) is just rather sad.

Of the two 'spoons, the Sir Titus Salt (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/55346/) is more interesting than the Turls Green (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/55355/).

Cheers mate I shall give some of them a try. If all goes to plan we should have 2 or 3 hours to kill.

I've reviewed most of the pubs suggested by rp in the last 12 months.

I'd also add City Vaults (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/39965/)

Looks like I am meeting a mate in the Royal Oak - The Royal Oak (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/40154/) - A bit out of the centre but there are a few pubs nearby.

It might be a little too far but if you fancy a walk down the hill into Idle Symposium Ale and Wine Bar (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/55361/) should be a good bet for choice and quality.

That lines me up nicely for the one place near Bradford I would have liked to have found time to visit - the Idle Working Men's Club (http://www.idleworkingmensclub.co.uk/index.htm) - not just club name of the year, but club name of any year!

Will that be your bid Delboy? Hope the beers you tried made up for the result.

I have Bradford down for contingency plans on Saturday if Halifax v Dartford gets called off so a useful thread. I had bookmarked most of the pubs mentioned!
