In a move branded as ‘bizarre’, Westminster City Council have demanded that the Newman Arms serve its customers more slowly (http://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/General-News/Exclusive-Westminster-Council-forces-Newman-Arms-pub-to-serve-people-slowly-in-bizarre-move) in an attempt to prevent excessive numbers congregating on the pavement outside the pub. Apparently the licensees put the idea forward as a joke, but the council took them up on their suggestion.
Presumably they will welcome more branches of J. D. Wetherspoon opening up on their patch, then...
