We enjoyed doing their pub crawl in Brighton and around that area. Got through 20 pubs to get a t-shirt in a couple of days in 2007. Some good pubs then, and a lot has changed recently I believe with Craft beer opening pubs around there.

Yes - you can do a fair old crawl just on Southover Street itself, and that's before you add in some quality pubs in the nearby streets. A few stop-offs will help you up the hill after all.

The story doesn't make clear that this is a collaboration between Brighton Bier Company & Late Knights of Penge (who seem to be opening bars at a rapid rate). Anyway, it's one I'm hoping to try out soon.

The articles from the Argus below the pub advert look worrying
44 year old woman raped
51 year old man attacked with weapon and raped
man stabbed in knife point robbery
anyone fancy a pub crawl round Brighton?

I was more concerned about the names that the father figure gave to his daughters namely Coco, India and Montana.
I can just about live with the Country and American State names but a circus clown??

I gather the father was the man who founded Geronimo Inns. Given that connection and the Young's one I wonder if there will be a beer at under four quid a pint, or even five quid.

Going back to your original point I'm not a fan of it as a town at all but there are a few decent pubs there.

I think they should firstly concentrate on improving the current quality. Harveys would be ashamed of the condition their beer has been presented here in most recent visits (last several occasions, albeit not that recently - 18months?). To have this institution designated as 'off-map' by this correspondent, a decision agreed with by fellow travellers, shows just how far the standards had fallen - simply lazy management imo.
And my last pint here, perhaps the tipping point, was pulled via the awful method of 'lazypull' - glass plonked in the drip tray and the beer pulled one-handed from on-high. It shows the bar-person doesn't give a stuff about their job, or your pint, and is Wrong, wrong wrong!

And the award for the worst planned pub crawl of the year goes to Ian Mapp ;)
