I'm certainly jealous as I have never been to Sheffield, but am well aware what a great beer drinking place it has become. I'm a great fan of everything Abbeydale and Kelham Island Pale Rider.

In the Dark Days of the seventies I don't tnink there was any reason to visit the City.

If I hadn't been totally :nishelypished: I probably would have been jealous.

Currently sat on the Trent & Mersey canal in Stone in the middle of the mother of all thunderstorms, recovering after a night in the Swan and the Royal Exchange. Both equally excellent. Contemplating wether to do the same again tonight.

Spent yesterday in Birmingham City Centre drinking in the Bull, the Gunmaker's Arms, the Sacks of Potatoes, the Crown and the Jekyll and Hyde.

Excellent Monty's Ales in the Gunmaker's, fine Adnam's Broadside in the Bull, various at the Beer Festival in the Sacks, the Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby being the best. The Crown was a disappointment, but the Jekyll and Hyde was excellent, although I can't remember what I had in both pubs.

The eveining rounded off with a curry in the excellent Manzil's in Digbeth.
