Interesting statistic: London, population 9 million, 27 breweries. Yorkshire, pop. 4.5 mill - 110 breweries

Lucky sod !! Another statistic London Lager drinkers 8.5M, Yorkshire Lager drinkers 15. OK I made that up but i may not be far wrong.

Shropshire population 290,000 , 16 breweries , thats one brewery per 18125 head of population , not bad :notworthy::drinkup:

Yorkshire,1 brewery per approx every 41 square miles
London ,1 brewery per approx every 24 square miles
Don't really know what this means but Iv'e never run out of beer yet :bemerry:,occasionally beer tokens though :(:moremad:

Not one for statistics, but we're all a damn sight better off for breweries than we were 40 years ago:more breweries, more choice!.

I read somewhere that 97.2% of all statistics are made up.

Interesting. I wonder if it's got anything to do with the fact that Yorkshire is pretty much full of Yorkshiremen (and women)?

I regard statistics much like a broken lampost to a drunken man, more use for leaning on than for any sort of illumination.
