This weekend, the Davenport Arms in Woodford will be celebrating eighty years under the stewardship of four generations of the Hallworth family, as announced in this press release from Robinson’s brewery (http://robinsonsdigital.wordpress.com/2012/03/21/davenport-arms-celebrate-80-years-with-robinsons/).
It’s a characterful redbrick farmhouse-style pub which is almost certainly the nearest thing to a proper country pub within the boundaries of Stockport MBC. See here (http://realpubsuk.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/davenport-arms.html) for a more detailed description.
Let’s hope they can keep going through the next eighty years.
