The Hermitage (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/76175/) was a previous incarnation of The Scholar (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57732/). (Compare the upper floor windows in the photos of the Scholar with Graham Mason's b&w of the Hermitage.) Please move the b&w photo etc.

What about asking Graham Mason to resubmit them on the correct pubs?

Here are some more (but this is the final batch, I've been through all of the arealess pubs in Sheffield to find them):

Mulberry Tavern (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/76208/) is the former name of what is now Affinity Bar & Club (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/43267/). (Again different addresses caused the duplication: one is the main street out front, the other the back alley.)

The Rat & Parrot (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/76268/) is the same as the present day Steelhouse (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57737/), both at 53-59 West Street.

The Old Brewery Tap (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/76231/) is what is now known as The Broadwalk (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/43266/).

The Surrey (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/76328/) is a former name of the pub now called The Graduate (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57712/).

Please correct the name of The Roman Bridge (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/76273/) on Roman Bridge Road - it should be The Roman Ridge on Roman Ridge Road.


The Norfolk Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/76216/) has been placed at the wrong end of Ringinglow Road with the wrong postcode. I have corrected the map point, please amend the postcode to S11 7TS and change the address to 2 Ringinglow Village, as per the pub's website. I have marked the pub as open. The map point correction will need approval, as I moved it about two miles.

Hi sheffield hatter,

I'm not sure how to tactfully answer the question of why not contact Graham Mason. Everytime a new issue comes up on the site the default suggestion seems to be to contact a member and ask them to correct, clarify or otherwise. We really don't have time and I am not convinced it does anything to stop issues, all it does is tell a member to push the fold and we will correct you. Sorry if that seems a bit snippy bit it just isn't viable.

To put some numbers to this, these corrections you have posted today have probably taken me about 45 minutes to apply with moving all the pictures around, if I were to write letters about them all it would take well over an hour and have potential fall out all over the place as I have to clarify and explain. If I just deleted the pubs it would take 5 minutes. Time that could be spent doing improvements on the site.

Hopefully I have corrected all the ones you mentioned there. Thanks for bringing them to our attention, I do appreciate it and know you are spending a lot of time improving the site, it would be so much easier if people just got it right in the first place though :).
