A few decent pints in The Baum on Tuesday.

Wilson Potter Ruby Red was very nice but the surprise of the night was Greenfield Thirst Born.

I'm not a great fan of Greenfield brews, they are very in and out.

However Thirst Born is definitely in, I had three pints.

It's in the lead by a street length at the moment.

No beer for me this week, as I'm taking an antibiotic that's incompatible with alcohol. :(

White Rose week at the Station this week , all good but very similar

White Dragon
Whiter Shade of Ale
Dizzy Blonde
Naughty Blonde
Original Blonde
Stairway to Heaven

Front runner comes from next door at the Fighting Cocks , Ironbridge - Wenlock Oak Aged Stout , a special one off brew to celebrate Much Wenlocks part in the founding of the modern olympics , its one of the best stouts i have ever drunk , bloody lovelly:notworthy:

Burley St Brewhouse - Laguna Seca

A fantastic IPA from the Fox & Newt brewpub on Burley Road in Leeds. I shall be visiting there more in future, a much overlooked pub.

There was also a tasty Kirkstall Pale Ale in North Bar, Leeds Pale in the Adelphi and Saltaire Blonde in the Templar Hotel all worthy of a mention.

That doesn't sound good at all A&H, you'd have thought science would have come up with an alcohol tolerant antibiotic by now :D

At present it's either an excellent pint of Draught Bass or the Wychwood Dirty Tackle I had last night watching the rugby.

However I'm meeting up with a mate today for a few beers, if the trains are OK, so will reserve judgement.

Windsor & Eton Conqueror 1075 at the Nags Head. 7.4% of pure lovliness. Knocked the Sarah Hughes into a cocked hat at the Hobgoblin an hour later.

Managed another couple of pints of Ironbridge Wenlock Oak Aged Stout last night plus a few others (and some Guiness)

Envile - Simpkiss
Purple Moose - Cwrw Eryri
Rudgate - Admirals Cheer
Tetley - Bitter

All drunk while taking part in the new spectator sport of watching cars trying to get up the mainstreet in the snow , all the buses were cancelled so i had to walk home :moremad:which meant a couple of refreshment breaks on the way at the Red Lion(Tetley) and Duke of York(Guiness , no ale but only £2.50 a pint):D

BOTW Ironbridge - Wenlock Oak Aged Stout

Loads of good Ales this week and a few crap ones as well. But I think that was more down to the Pubs fault.

Six of the best below.
Exmoor Beast
Cairngorm Wildcat
Woodfordes Admirals Reserve
Summerskills Whistle Belly Vengeance
Ringwood Fortyniner
Traditional Scottish Ales Sporran Winter Warmer Ale.

I will go for Summerskills Whistle Belly Vengeance as Ale of the week.

For the second week running Dark Star Revelation in a different pub ,this time The George ,Croydon.Despite being served in a plastic mug:mad: due to Palace v Brighton that evening,it still outshone the Thornbridge and Abbeydale beers on a swift trip to Sheffield.....it really was that good:drinkup:

No pub this week, but I tried a couple of good Kentish 5% golden ales in boittle that I pickd up a few weeks ago: Golden Ticket from spa Brewery/Royal Tunbridge Wells Brewery-I think they are one and the same, and Hengist from the Wantsum Brewery at the old Chislet Colliery site near Canterbury. The Golden Ticket marginally gets my nomination, but they were both hoppy and tasty, and I look forward to drinking them from cask, though neither brewewry seems to reach my particular neck of the Weald.

Darn, I've yet to taste this nectar, it's next up on pump 11 at the Nags...hopefully come Tuesday.

Project Venus - Venus Black
Dorset Brewing Co – Ammonite
Oakham – Citra
Oakham – Dreamcatcher
Leeds - Midnight Bell
Orkney – Red McGregor
Magic Rock – Rapture
Havant – Started
Fullers – Jack Frost
Dark Star – Smoked Porter, a former BOTW,but served a tad too cold and not so good in the George in Fleet St.

A real toss-up between the Magic Rock Rapture in the Craft Beer Co and Oakham Dreamcatcher in the Lamb in Surbiton, but I think I’ll plump for the Dreamcatcher

Oakham Bishops Farewell
Black Sheep
Fullers London Pride
Fullers Benghal Lancer
Wooden Hand Pirate's Gold
Wentworth Rock Spalt

Both the Bishops and the Rock Spalt were excellent but BOTW was Fullers Benghal Lancer.

Revolutions Severin Dark and Dark Star Milk Chocolate Stout were both good contenders this week, but I've got to give BOTW to the excellent Fuller's London Porter which I was pleased to find the cask version of in the Star Tavern, Belgravia.

Damn! I nearly went there tonight on the way to an after-work meeting, but opted for the nearby Wilton Arms instead (mind you, I ended up with a pretty good pint of Late Red anyway...).

Only about a dozen of us made it to The Baum on Saturday due to the heavy snow (part timers )

They missed a treat. Oldershaw Heavenly Blonde was on the bar. It was too.

Just beats the Greenfield Thirst Born to my BOTW.
